Old people from SchelaIn Schela, there are many older people without any relatives. Most of them need some help in their daily life or just feel lonely and need somebody to talk. We visit them regularly with a group of kids to show them that they are not alone. |

Danceclasses in Schela! The kids in Schela are full of energy and they are longing for movement...through the regular danceclasses they have the chance to improve their rhythmical skills, gain some body-awareness, present themselves in all different kind of performances and of course: to have a lot of fun! And so do I… |

Dicovering Italy/ItaliansMe and Andreea were traveling around Italy9 days. We were in Roma, Caserta, Benevento, Foggia, Bari, Alberobello, Termoli, Pescara. I mostly enjoyed small places like Alberobello, Termoli as they are small but very beautiful with very credible nature. Most of our time we spent in Bari as we had very nice host there and we really liked Bari. Our host is musician and we had every evening live concert by him and his friends:) In Pescara we were having dinner. We were sad that we couldn't stay there longer as it was very nice please near the sea and our host was very friendly and funny. We were in Pescara 12 hours but we had change to see everything there as our host friend took us with car to see Pescara :D Roma is Roma, very big full of history. But this trip I enjoyed more to stay small places than big cities what made my tired :) We had very nice time in Italy. |

Football training in MaltaFrom 15th till 26th of March I had training camp with my football team in Malta. We had 4 games, we won 2, one was even score and we lost one game. Out team had great change to play 2 games against Malta national team. First game ended 1:1 and all Estonian news channels were writing about that :) About Malta: its full of history, old nice houses, old buses, they are speaking Maltese and English, they have same traffic as in UK, Malta is very small country where you can just walk 15 minutes and you are already another city:) I have change to meet Malta people and I have very nice opinion of them and and everybody is playing there football!! You can find so many football fields and people who are wearing football clothes. |

Weekend trip to Dracula's castleLast weekend we decided to continue our tour around Romania and we have chosen another two wonderful places: Dracula's Castle and Bâlea Lake in Fagaras Mountains. Although the travel was tiring, it worth, so we had nothing to complain about. The landscape was marvelous. Here are some pieces of our story for those who would like to find out some more things about Dracula's legend... |

Eco Action on the Castle ArishiEco Action on the Castle Arishi The eco action initiated on 3 - th of March was aimed to clean the historical Castle Arishi. Arishi is very old castle, it was built in the IV century B.C. and played very big role in the life of the country, Its the only castle which includes the frescos and at present there was a big problem of pollution there. Because of the lack of finances our government cannot take care of this place, so people going there don’t follow the rules of clearness and make it dirty. I decided to resolve this problem and in the shape of my follow up money I Initiated Eco action there in which participated children from the Rustavi school N11, their amount was 18 and age 13 – 14. We used the plastic bags for cleaning, this event was illuminated also by the local newspaper “Informator” and the article will be publicized in April. After the action we burnt the trash collected there. I hope with this we gave a good example to others to be more careful to this place. |

It was a great opportunity to get to know traditonal dances from different countries ( for example Serbia, Bulgaria and of course Romania). Some of them seems to be impossible to learn, some are not so complicated. The group from Children Palace (Arad) had the best show, but I think people from Arad are always the best;) |

Estonian - Polish eveningIt was Sunday, very sunny and nice weather - second of Advent. After jogging we started to prepare for Estonian - Polish night: Dana cooked Polish food and I made Estonian food. Middle of this cooking we discovered that we have quite same things in our country. Just some small details are different, what I guess makes our food just common for us. We had visitors from Hungary and Romania =) |

And suprise suprise, one couple picked us up and we got straight to Budapest! And - and, also we got back with them, from Budapest to front of our apartment door! As they are also living in Micalaca srt :D Perfect short trip. In Budapest we stayed volunteers apartment. It was very nice, 20 minutes away from Budapest center with bus. Our hosts were Turkish and girl from Germany. We stayed in Budapest 3 days and I feel there like in home as I know almost all corners now. Ok, there is still much to see as Budapest is very big with two parts: Buda right-bank (west) and Pest on the left (east) bank. More info about Budapest: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Budapest |

In the end everybody got a sweet and a small surprise. It was really a good thing. Thanks to everybody :-) |

Belgrade - Slavic New York / cheap NYC, SerbiaIt was time to visit another neighbor of Romania. Before going we knew only few things about Serbia, for instance that they won Eurovision songcontest 2007 and also I had heart that capital of Serbia, Belgrade is like a cheap New York City =) Now, after this trip we know much more about this country and as soon as possible we would like to go back to Serbia to see more this beautiful landscape and small Panacevo - a multiconfessional town. We were hitchhiking from Arad to Belgrade and it took us 5 hours. Its perfect distance to see something really different. I kind of felt like in Russia, as they have Russian letters, language sound like Russian, lots of same words and I had to speak Russian quite much. It was kind of cool to remind Russian as I haven't use this language since high school. |

Unbelieveble trip to Budapest 10.10 - 12.10I had quite long time this plan to visit Budapest, to meet Hungarians and see Estonian's and Hungarian's similarities, as Estonian belongs Finno-Ugric language family as Hungarian. We started to hitchhike around 16.30. We were hitchhiking 1 hour and then it came out that its wrong direction. We were almost ready to give up and try our luck next day again. But then one very nice guy took us in right direction and then he told that he will take us Nadlac but in the end we were with him in Hungary :D He took us to Mako!! From there we got with Austrian man to Budapest. At 22 we were in there :) One of this trip reason was also shopping, very soon it will be very cold and we needed winter clothes, but it was very funny to do it in the time then it was 24 degrees warm, super sunny. By the way, its my best autumn in my life, its better not to talk about autumns in Estonia :) On Sunday we were back, we went with girls out to have a chat in nice place and it was unbelievable to think that just 5 hours ago we were in Budapest. Just like that :D |

Mini Playback ShowLast week, Daniela and I planned with the children from Sintea-Mare one Mini Playback show. For this Event the children had to create their own costume and their own choreography, in order to present themselves on Friday night in the house of culture. Most of them were very excited, but also very well prepared. Even a professional Jury came to Sintea-Mare to make the decision, which three groups were the best. This way the audience, the little Stars and also the Jury had a great evening and gave us the feeling, that they really enjoyed it. |

Canoes in Lunca MuresuluiYesterday we had great change to canoeing. For Kadi it was third time to canoeing but for others it was Famous FIRST TIME :D Volunteers were very excited to go but at the same time bit scared of water and canoe. But it came out its not at all difficult. In one canou we had 2 people. One was leading and other was hardworker in the canou, pushing very heavily to give the speed to canou :D Our trip took us 4 hours, distance was 23 km what was maybe too much, too much for a first time. But we are very happy that we have now one experience more. Actually more than one because it was also good exercise for teamwork. How to make a cooperation, how to be patient and support each other. Because for some people there was hard moments as distance was long and sometimes boring. Nice canoes with nice people :) |

Impressions of RomaniaWhen I told people in my home country about my EVS stage in Romania, I got to know very different reactions. All in all I recognized that a lot of negative prejudices exist. Therefore I developed together with Juliane a "Own activity" called: "Nonformal education through travelling in order to do a follow up activity in the home country after the EVS". Perhaps it sounds really complicated, but I can tell you, it's very easy. All we want to do is to see as much from this country as possible, in order to make a follow up activity back home with the collected pictures and materials. The follow up activity will be a presentation about Romania in schools and so on. Up to now I already had the opportunity to discover the country again and again. I'm really glad about that, because I collected so many impressions yet. And I'm curious to see more of this exciting, interesting country and to share my impressions with others! Maybe I can change the mind of some people... |

It was second time than volunteers organized bonfire and it seemed that first time volunteers gave very good impression with it and this time there were more people. People were making the tick bread on fire and singing. Very nice evening with very friendly people. Life in Sintea Mare is very peaceful and nice. Host, where volunteers are staying is very nice old lady, Florica. She has own pigs, chickens and she makes own tsuika and she gives it to every guest, whats out! :) If you want to take time off, go there. Its best place to charge batteries, practises Romanian, as Florica wants to speak all the time. By the way, she is 60 and she is studying English. And she is already very good at it! :D Good time with good people. |

Training course in Suplacu de Barcau and much moreI spent one week in Suplacu what was my first time to be there. I had a change to stay old lady home who was Hungarian. Estonian belongs Finno-Ugric language family as Hungarian, so we tryed to find similarities our language, we made some experiences but we found only few things what sounded same way. Estonian is more closely related to Finnish where we can understand each other very well. I'm amazed how people are living middle of oil platforms. My first question was in Suplacu: "Dose something is burning?" The answer was: "No, its Suplacu smell." Village is surrounded with oil fields and people are living center of this smell and smoke. I had also opportunity to visit local orthodox church on Sunday what was very nice. At this period then I stayed in Suplacu we had a 3 days training course for local young people how to write projects. I was taking the photos and film. |

Arad - Sibiu - Deva - Timisioara15th-18th August we visited Sibiu, the European Capital of Culture 2007. Sibiu is very nice city but I was bit surprised that it took us only 1 day to see everything in Sibiu. On this trip we had lot of adventures what was mostly because we were hitchhiking :) For instance driver were driving too fast and policeman stopped him and he had to pay penalty for this. After this we visited car driver' brother who has farm near the Deva and he invited to us come in. We got a home made cheese, bread, meat and lemonade. People were so nice with us. We were like part of their family :) It was great opportunity to get more closer to Romanian culture and traditions. When we hitchhiked back to Arad we decided to take a look also to Deva and we came back to Arad through Timisoara. |

We were together till Brad than Juliane and Daniela started to hitchhike to Sintea Mare to put their things away and come to Arad. Me and Sigrid hitchhiked to Deva, we had little lunch in Mc Donald and after that we hitchhiked to Arad. It took us 5 hours to arrive to Arad. We were quite surprised how quickly we made it. I guess it was our lucky day till we arrived to Arad and we were waiting and waiting till tram is coming but it came out after 40 minutes waiting that tram 7 and 17 don't work :D For me it was my first time to be in Arad and it was kind of cool to see others, how they are living and how they are. After this extraordinary 30 minutes what we were in Gypsis place we hitchhiked to Rosia Montana. It was quite fun ride on the car cart and to see the horses on the road. Ow, Rosia Montana is so small village, but the nature is beautiful and people are nice. We are planning to organize the summer camp for children there on the 4th-8th August. If someone feels bored and wants to try something cool you can came and help us. Lets exchange the experiences! :) |

Volunteers alone in AradOur dear Grikha is leaving soon and that['s why Egija and I use every opportunity to see him and our lovely georgian friends! This weekend we escaped again from our village and went to the 'big city life' in Arad. Of course we didn't make plans and we had a lot of funny moments. And not to forget about all the statements, from "Silence" to "Thank you for understanding!". And not to forget about Grikhas ability to sing :b WHY NOT? BECAUSE I TOLD YOU... :))) |

Arriving in Suplacu de BarcauWe arrived in Suplac on February the 10th, at night. Big change, strong feelings. We met our new family: Iuliana, our grand-ma (don't search for any picture, there isn't because she always says she has to cut her hair before, but she never does), and Edi, our brother, her grand-son. First impression: the smell. We must confess we arrived on a bad day, but anyway, wouaw, it really was hard. |
