ON ARRIVAL TRAINING

Location: ‘Lunca Muresului’ National Park;

Volunteers from: MILLENNIUM Center Association, Sfintii Trei Ierarhi;
Objectives:
- delivering data regarding the host country and community
- giving information about the organizations of former EVS volunteers
- being aware of the manner and importance whit which proper cultural differences and conflicts can be solved
- acquainting the volunteers with the role of every partner involved in each step of the project and with the responsibilities of the project implementation team
- acquiring basic conversation skills in Romanian and/or English
- getting to understand the meaning of volunteer-ship
- identifying clear objectives connected to the activities to be performed during the volunteer stage
Day 1, 05th of May:
Arrivals and accomodation of the participants
Going out in the city
Day 2, 06 th of May:
09:00 – 10:00 - Breakfast;
10:00 – 10:45 - Presenting participants and trainers, practical things about the place, transport ;
10:45 – 11:30 - Collecting fears and expectations, presenting objectives of the on arrival training L;
11:30 – 11:45 - Coffee break;
11:45 – 12:45 - Get to know each other;
12:45 – 13:20 – Hosting organizations presentation, project's presentation;
13.20 – 14.00 - Personal objectives during EVS stage and project objectives ;
14:00 – 15:00 - Lunch;
15:00– 16:30 – Presenting activities planned to follow through out the entire volunteer stage and Follow-up activities
16:30 – 18:00 – Cultural shock and the management of differences (ABIGAIL GAME);
18:00 – 20:00 - Preparing intercultural evening; ;
20:00 – Dinner and Intercultural evening ;
Day 3, 07th of May;
09:00 – 10:00 – Breakfast;
10:00 – 13:30 - Arad city game ;
13:30 – 15:00 – Lunch;
15:00 – 16:30 - Romanian language introduction ;
16:30 – 17:00 - Coffee break;
17:00 – 18:00 - Romania – between myth and history;
18:00 – 19:00 - Intermediary evaluation ;
19:00 – 20:00 - Dinner;
20:00 – 21:00 - Viewing of a documentary about Romanian history; facilitated talks ;
Day 4, 08th of MAY;
09:00 – 10:00 - Breakfast
10:00 – 10:30 - Energizer
10:30 – 10:45 Visibility of financers and partner organizations. Dissemination methods of the activities implemented and good methods and practices ;
10:45 - 11:30 - Assistance and mentorship service through out the whole volunteer stage
11:30 – 11:45 - Coffee break;
11:45 – 13:00 - Host communities – presentation;
13:30 – 15:00 - Lunch
15:00 – 16:30 - YOUTH PASS ;
16:30 – 16:45 Caffee break
16:45 – 18:00 - Youth in Action, focusing on EUROPEAN VOLUNTARY SERVICE and viewing materials created from YOUTH and YOUTH IN ACTION financed programs ;
18:30 – 19:30 - The responsibilities of insurers: medical insurance ; The role and responsibility of the doctor;
19:30 – Dinner;
Day 5, 09th of May;
08:30 – 10:00 – Breakfast;
10:00 – 18:00 Boating on Mures River ;
18:00 – 19:30 – Dinner
20:00 – Romanian movie ;
Day 6, 10th of May;
08:30 – 09:30 – Breakfast;
09:30 – 18:30 – Study Visit in Timisoara ;
19:00 – 20:00 - Final Evaluation;
20:00 Dinner, Disco in the City
