After EVS
How do you feel after EVS? This question is more asked until now. Well, my answer is “depressed”. A lot changed inside of me and something changed in my country. Incredible, but in my country I feel myself like a guest until now. Even in my house first days I felt myself like this.
It is hard to accept fact, that suddenly you “broke” with all people, with whom you lived, worked, partying together. Really hard! EVS is a good opportunity to know many new things, but is at the same time bad thing… as after a few months you are getting to use to host country and then suddenly you are at your home country, without job and so on.
The hardest period of EVS – is when your project is finished. At least, I consider like this. Some volunteers says that hardest period, when you are getting to adapt. But, I think it was the most interesting part. I had a chance to learn something new every hour. That is amazing.
Good thing, that after EVS people are asking from me about EVS many. As many people knows, I like to talk about my experience. For my friends, Romania became really interesting country. They want to visit this place at least like a tourist. For me, Romania is my second love – after Azerbaijan of course.
For 9 month I had really wonderful experience, which I am still using. For example, Romanian language. In Azerbaijan exist one representative of Romanian Oil company Neptun. Well, with president of that representative I met here. As he informed, they are working here since 2008, February. He is trying his best to make me to not forget Romanian language. I forgot already many words. Anyway, I am talking with him ONLY in Romanian. We never had conversation in English.
In general, here I am trying to know all Romanian who are in Azerbaijan. They are not so many. The same like Azerbaijanis in Romania. Ah, no… Azerbaijanis are more I think. Whatever, the point is, that it is nice to meet Romanian. We have two football players from Romania here: Adrian Neaga, which played in Steaua and Marian Aliuta, which was playing in Romanian National Team in November, 2008 against France last time. Also he is ex-player of FC Vaslui.
I met also one Romanian guy, who is FIFA agent. Interesting conversation we had. J
As you know, Moldavians also speaks in Romanian. So, I met some Moldavians also. I met one Moldavian, who thought even, that I am Romanian! J Whatever... Quite interesting facts I had.
Now I am preparing volunteers for Millennium Center. For them is really interesting to know more about Romania, as I had the same way.
So, as I want to come back to improve my Romanian, I applied for one scholarship in Romania. I hope I will win it and study in Romanian language. I miss this language also…
One advice for future volunteers: before leaving project, try to find a job while being in your host country.
